About the sources.

This page exists because the rest of the site presents information without certifying it. Read this before you cite anything you find here.

§ 01

Who runs this

The Counter-Archive Binckhorst is an independent research project by Daniels Rubins, carried out as part of my studies at the KABK (Royal Academy of Art, The Hague). The main research period is January–May 2026; the site keeps getting edited after that.

It is not linked to the city, to any developer, or to the omgevingsloket (the city permits desk). It does not speak for residents quoted here.

§ 02

Where the information comes from

  • News and public documents about the Binckhorst changes (press, planning documents, project websites).
  • The research paper written during the Jan–May 2026 cycle.
  • What we saw and photographed at the sites during fieldwork.
  • Public resident reviews, written down and credited by first initial only.
  • National-level statistics on construction & demolition waste (CLO, Metabolic, allesovercirculairslopen).
§ 03

What is not verified

Number of units, exact filing dates, who built what, share of social housing and the date a window closes are all rough numbers. Where sources disagree, the archive shows both. Where the public record says nothing, the archive marks it as a GAP entry — those are things we noticed, not conclusions.

The four-week sloopmelding window is taken from public guidance; the exact legal period and any extensions for a specific site are not independently checked here.

§ 04

How to correct an entry

Submissions are read by the archivist. If a date, a name, a figure, or a credit on this site is wrong — or if you are a resident, owner, or developer named here and would like to add context — send it through Contribute.

§ 05

How to read the rest of the site

Treat headlines as things we noticed, not as legal or planning sources. Treat hard numbers as rough. Treat the live "Active sites" list as the archivist's best knowledge on the last update date shown on that page, not as an official register. The bar at the top of every page is part of the source.
